FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials do you use?

Everything in the shop is made from high-quality stoneware or porcelain and glazed using formulas I develop in-studio. My aesthetic leans toward earthy neutrals, cobalt blues, deep browns, and natural tones inspired by the elements.

Are your pieces microwave and dishwasher safe?

Most functional stoneware is both microwave- and dishwasher-safe; however, handmade pottery lasts longest when washed by hand. Any exceptions (such as alternative-fired pieces like raku) will be clearly noted in the product description.

Will my pottery look exactly like the photos?

Each piece is handcrafted and fired individually, which means slight variations in glaze, color, and surface texture are natural—and part of the beauty of handmade pottery. I photograph all pieces in natural light to stay as true to life as possible.

Do you offer custom orders?

Yes! I am happy to take on a limited number of custom projects throughout the year, depending on studio workload and firing schedules. If you’re interested in a custom order, visit the Custom Work page and submit the inquiry form. I’ll review your request and get back to you with availability, timeline, and pricing.

Can I pick up my order locally?

Local pickup is available in Methuen, MA by appointment, or at a Craft Fair/Event. At checkout, select Local Pickup and you’ll receive an email to coordinate.

What is your shipping policy?

All ready-to-ship pieces are carefully packed and leave the studio within 3–5 business days. Individual carriers' shipping times may vary.

If you purchase a made-to-order piece (clearly labeled on the product page), production can take 4–8 weeks depending on drying time, glazing cycles, and kiln availability.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at this time. Currently, shipping is available within the United States only.

What if my order arrives damaged?

I pack every item with extreme care, but if something arrives damaged, please email support@nicklisellapottery.com with photos of the piece and packaging within 48 hours of delivery. I’ll replace the item or issue a refund depending on availability.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Because each piece is handmade and unique, all sales are final. If there is an issue with your order, please reach out—I always want you to love what you receive.

How often do you restock?

I restock the shop in small curated batches. Restock dates are announced on Instagram @nicklisellapottery and through the email newsletter. Sign up to be the first to know.
